Hi,

I think you have something there. Netbooks often don't have enough power to
power USB drives. If it has a mains plug to the drive, plug it in.

All the best

Steve

Does it take its power from the USB port, a second USB, or external supply?

If first option, maybe not enough power.

Have you always accessed it from the same machine?

I have a lot of data on a 500gig USB portable drive which I am trying to
access. I get told the disk is not formatted which is odd because I know
I've hundreds of radio dramas on this drive.

Is there anyway I can recover these as some I know I'll never get again.

I've tested it with at least two netbooks with the same result.
If anyone can suggest any way to resolve this, I'd be very much obliged.

Best wishes and thanks in advance, Juli
