Hi
OK, the plot thickens with audible.co.uk.
1. Despite the fact that the address bar of I E does indeed state that
audible.co.uk is being used, the site does mirror the audible.com site.
2. What is interesting is that I can now log into the original audible.com
site and purchase books which I was previously denied access to, so maybe
there is some kind of agreement now running for people in the UK to the
effect that audio material previously denied to us is now unrestricted.
3. Where the unrestriction seems to stop is when you want to sign up to
their premium listener plan. If you live in the US, you can get a very nice
portable MP3 player if you sign up to the plan for 12 months. This is not
available in the UK it would seem.
4. On a slightly unrelated matter, I have a technical query for anyone using
audible content.
I am using their audible manager desktop player to play content, and I do
not seem to be able to get back to the beginning of a book. There does not
seem to be a keystroke to do that. While I can go forward what they define
as one section at a time, the keystroke to go back a section,
control+shift+R, does not work. Has anyone else had similar problems? Steve,
it sounds like I might have to get out the book courier (smile).
