Hi Barry,

Yes, you have to set the time and date. Tricky without eyes, but =
do-able.
I find the quickest way to set time and date is to reformat the phone if =
you
have already updated the firmwate. Type *#7370#, then Key1, then 12345
followed by Key1. This is the lock code. Wait for the phone to reboot,
then type immediately, lon into the first field, which sets the city to
London, then Key1, then type in the current time, then Key1 then the =
current
date in 09022007 format, no spaces or anything, then Key1 again, then =
wait
for about a minute for the phone to install bits from the hard disk. =
Now
you should be able to install Talks.

The only difficulty is if your phone defaults to setting the software to
signed only. Then you really won't be able to do it without sight, or I
have not found a reliable way of doing it.

All the best

Ive just ran this on my phone.

It was successful on the firmware side.

I'm trying to get talks 3 back on though.

I've it connected back up to the PC suite.

Any ideas on whither the time/date need to be altered or the security
settings tweaked and if so what so?

Anyone done this without a pair of eyes at hand at some stage?

Keystrokes needed.

Thanks guys.

Hi Chris,

No, I don't agree, I have never had that problem, though you have to get =
the
plug in just right. Don't force it, don't bend the pins, and you'll be =
OK.

This is exactly what happened on my now defunked 6680. I think these USB
ports are not very good, anyone agree on that? I mean the USB port on =
the
phones, not the computers.
