Sorry Terry my message got all mixed up within yours. i was saying that you would find it a bit of a hassle having to disable Talks and then reenable it to do certain tasks. No point in simply muting it as it is still there in the background. I also suggested that you mioght derive benefit from other E7 users if you were to join the Talks list, UK and International ones. I find most support takes place on the International Talks Mailing list.

Hi Eleanor

Thanks for the work around. Can I just ask, you say that talks doesn't
allow for numbers to be pressed whilst on a call, so what if you unloaded
talks prior to making a call? Would this then allow you to be able to press numbers as required, e.g. whilst choosing options on your voice mail, and or having to choose options on those call that require you to press numbers to
get to different departments.

Thanks.

Terry

Yes it has a slider keypad which is qwerty. It is probably the most
expensive Nokia phone at 365 pounds. Lovely phone though.

Hi

does this phone have a built in keyboard then, I assumed it was a touch
screen from what he had written. I'll google it and have a look.

Hi,

This sounds horribly obvious for the E7, but can you use the hardware
keyboard? As for the iPhone, no idea.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi all

A very good friend of mine works as a volunteer for the RNIB, and has come
across a issue with a particular problem, which he is struggling to help the talks user with. I'll paste his comments below, and if anyone can help, it
would be very very much appreciated. It hopefully may also help others on
the list.

When he emailed this earlier, it made me smile, because I also have the same
problem on my iphone, so if anyone also knows the answer to the same
difficulty, but using an iphone instead, then this would be of great benefit
to me.

"I'm trying to help a chap at the moment with a Nokia E7 and Talks software.

He's having a problem where he can make a call OK, but when he has called
somewhere with a navigation system that needs digits pressed i.e. 1 for this
department, 2 for that department etc. he can't find the keypad on the
screen to send digits. I've got the manual for the software, but haven't
found anything about this, it certainly isn't in the section on making a
call. Any ideas"?

Thanks as always.

Terry
