I'm Sorry, but it's the truth. You might as well just leave your list on yahoogroups or if you do plan to take the google groups route, you should manually subscribe users. The reason why I say this is because that it sets every subscriber to nomail. Or, another alternative is to tell your subscribers to subscribe via the web interface. Doing this, they can set their preferences.

Hope that helps,
Orhan.
Ps, telling people to use the web interface or manually subscribing them will lose membership on the list in my opinion.

orhan, surely this can't be true.
I thought Googlemail would sort out my problems big style.
I'm now disappointed.
I will just have to leave my mailing list where it is with Yahoo at the moment,

Hi billy,
For that purpose I would stick with yahoo groups...
Google groups has tendensies to bounce peoples e-mail addresses, as well as setting every subscriber by default on to no mail.

Hope that helps,
Orhan.

Hi Douglas, I'm needing somemore help with Google if you don't mind.
I'm not really sure if you can advise with this one.
I am the owner of the dinky_doo mailing list. At the moment dinky doo is a Yahoo group, but I'd like to change it to a Googlegroup?.

I also have an Idea of setting up a new mailing list with Googlegroups.
Have you any Ideas how I can achieve these things?,

Yahoo's Customer Service in the UK is at

020 713 1100

but whether they could help over this type of issue I am not sure.

When I had similar problems three years ago I got round them by setting up an @yahoo.co.uk address and using it only for Yahoo groups. But when I switched to Google Mail as my main address I found that using the Yahoo one was no longer necessary - no
bouncing of Yahoo groups mail now.

hi guys,
Can anyone on list provide a telephone number for Yahoo. I am needing to
talk with someone about this mail bouncing problem. It is now getting
rediculous. The unbounce option doesn't seem to be working for me either.
Its so annoying,
