I think where some things can get a little difficult is where there are
components of an application some of which may be running as services
and the like that are deeply embedded in the system. The task may sound
simple in that you stop them in order to remove them as part of the
installer script, however in the real world this may be more complicated
than it sounds. I know Nero has a CD packet writing utility sitting in
the system tray at least as well of a lot of other stuff like Nero
Agent. However Nero like Easy CD Creator has really lost its way,
bloated and probably suffering gowt too so it has possibly the same need
for removal tools.
