I have been looking at this more seriusly now, it used to be that mobile was so
expensive that only business people could really afford it and you needed a
monthly contract anyway which would be around £30 or £40 a month. If I pick
one of these I will let the list know how accesible it is, there will be
softwre that you can use with each of these that will let you know your usage.
Vodafone do contract but also do a plan which you do on a month to month basis
about £20 (3GB) but I presume you can let it lapse until there is another month
on which you need mobile internet, may be alright if you're the sort of person
who only needs it when you go on holiday in the UK:

T-Mobile organise things a little differently with a £4 per day that you use
the service within a given month. The limit is 3GB fair use within the month.

Three are possibly most flexible and quite fast. They give you a tiered
pricing thoug the top up process seems a bit complicated. The adaptors range

Yes there is. If you don't take out a contract, you will have to pay
for the USB modem which normally comes free when you are on a mobile
broadband contract.
I know Vodafone and T-Mobile both do this on a Pay-As-You-Go basis now.
I've never done it, but I believe you plug the USB modem into your
laptop and install the software.

hi guys, wondering if there is anything like pay as you go mobile

i'm going on a weekend break soon, and would like to take my laptop with
