Never mind my last post. You answered my question. It is sad an assisted
living facility makes it difficult, if not impossible to have an assistance
dog for its residents. The whole point of living in such a facility in the
first place, is that one requires assistance. Wile retaining some form of
independence. As much as it is possible. It seems to me, such objective is
defeated if one can't even have a service dog to assist one who is
ambulatory challenged.

Hi Eleanor
No not in this case, it just isn't practicle and for me to
have a dog here, I am on the top floor, the third floor, the
bottom floor is reserved for people with severe needs and
dementia, there is no real grounds to take a dog out, I
wouldn't be able to get down the very steep hill in my
wheelchair in any case, it is always clogged with parked
cars, even cars have difficulty getting back up the hill, If
i needed to take a dog out, in an emergency, I wouldn't be
able to get down quick enough, I would need a lot of help
with a dog. I have asked my landlords and these are a few of
the reasons why it would not be practicle. Yes it is not
fair but you need to be realistic sometimes. I am
disapointed but it just isn't an ideal location for me to
have an assistant dog but I am living in the most suitable
place for my needs otherwise.
Regards
Adrien
