Dolphin Audio Publishing is known for its world leading software solutions that allow for the creation and playback of accessible, interactive digital materials. Dolphin's EaseReader player is widely regarded as the most advanced DTB player in the world, and it's now even better! Electronic text is today being used significantly to enhance the delivery and access to information, however, digital audio is used to a lesser extent. EasePublisher and EaseReader from Dolphin Audio Publishing, allows users to combine text, images and digital audio content in the form of an interactive Digital Talking Book. By combining and synchronizing audio and visual information, totally accessible information is available at everyone's fingertips, instantly. DTBs are proven to be beneficial for people who are blind or have vision impairments, as well as those with print impairments, however, recent trials using DTBs within education, also demonstrated benefits for improving literacy, language learning and offering an enhanced learning experience across the whole class. They are regarded as one of the key learning tools of the future and have been extensively featured in publications such as The Times Education Supplement and The Sunday Times. EaseReader version 2.02 now provides increased support for all types of DAISY books, including text only DAISY books, which can be played back using a speech synthesizer in EaseReader. There is now increased support for NISO standard books, providing a truly international product supporting all current standards for DTBs. Customers wanted the ability to playback a multi-volume book, this is now available for all DAISY and NISO types 1 and 2 books. Additional audio feedback was asked for, when navigating and searching a book, this is now provided. Users wanted the ability to playback books that only contained text, by using speech synthesizers EaseReader version 2.02 now offers this facility. Users wanted more information to be available when adding a bookmark and reviewing all bookmarks as a list, this has been included. Sarah Home, Operations and Development Manager, from the National Library for the Blind (NLB),"NLB have been running trials with nearly 400 different users, evaluating both EaseReader and EasePublisher from Dolphin. We have used EasePublisher to create 20 different DTB titles for our subscribers, who have then used the latest EaseReader to play these books. After very little training we were able to use EasePublisher with confidence, to create full text and audio books and users have found reading far more enjoyable using EaseReader. They are now able to search and navigate through the book, as well as include their own bookmarks and personal notes. We wouldn't consider using anything else now." Whether you have vision impairment, print impairment, learning difficulties or want to use the latest technology to learn a second language, EaseReader 2.02 will increase your chances of successes.
