Hi Andy, Darren is right, it could well be related to your colour contrast scheme. It is certainly worth turning it off to see if that solves the problem before you go any further with drivers. If it does solve the problem, then this may have to be approached from another angle. One other thing I should have asked of course, is whether or not you have check to see if all the latest Critical Updates have been applied. Have you checked to see if it came with SP2 applied? And even if it did, there have been updates since. It is also possible that ATI may have released hardware updates to Microsoft for inclusion in the Hardware part of the Update process. Goodness, I hope the same is not the case for me! I hate Windows Standard as the brightness blinds me. High contrast number 2 has been a friend since Windows 95, and I'd like to keep using it. If, for some reason, I couldn't, then I'd be as well turning my display off. Perhaps If I'd have done that years ago, I'd be much better on the computer eh? Thanks for the information. I will try changing the display colours to see if this makes a difference. George seems to think that I need to get more up to date display drivers. Not sure at all as I've never come across this particular problem before. Best wishes.
