Hi Tony,
Trying to give this kind of advice is tricky enough as it is, never mind doing it blindfold, so to speak, so please don't yell at me if something goes wrong. (Smile)
You first have to establish:-
1) Is there is a spare drive bay? 2) Is there a spare power connector? (Same size plug as goes into the existing drive.) 3) Is there a spare connector in the middle of the wide, flat cable that goes between the back of the existing drive and the PC's motherboard? (If it turns out to be a round cable, we may have a problem) 4) How is the existing drive fitted? Is it held in with two very small screws on either side, which screw into the actual hard drive? This is important, because some machines, like my own Fujitsu, use special mounting brackets. As luck would have it, one spare drive had the clip fittings necessary, the other did not.
George.
