Worth noting that you can also buy a mains charger for the shuffles too
if you don't want to be dependant on always attaching to the PC for
charging. Useful if away for a few days and don't want to have to take
the laptop along just to charge your player.

You don't use batteries with it, it has an internal battery that
charges from the USB connection on your computer. I'm not sure what the
charge life is, but I think it is probably around 5-6 hours.

Depends how much falling asleep mid book you do and how much
rewinding it takes to get back to the last point you remember!

This is good news. I might get one yet. Can you listen to a whole book
over time without changing the batteries or, if not, can it save a
position if you change the batteries?

Barry,

Yes, the Shuffle itself is completely accessible, but the I-Tunes
software will need additional Jaws or Window Eyes scripts before it can
be used.

    The Shuffle has 2 buttons:

*Slide button with 3 positions for On, Off and Shuffle.
*Round button, with up/down motion for volume control, left/right for
navigation control and when pressed is start/stop.

HTH,
Tink.
The Shuffle only has two buttons, a slide switch with 3
