Hi Jackie,
Yes, understand that, just thought, maybe if you disable
notifications while locked, they'd appear once unlocked, and it
wouldn't drane the battery. But glad putting it upside down
works.

Subject: [access-uk] Re: iPhone not always locking query
Hi Rajmund
It's quite simple. If I get a text message or news notification,
my phone
doesn't always go back to sleep. I don't know why this is as the
screen
lock is set to kick in after two minutes. If the phone does not
go back to
sleep after the notification, it drains the battery if left like
that
overnight, for example. Anyway I am taking someone's tip about
laying the
phone down overnight, that seems to make a difference. It has
got nothing
to do with disturbing me, I leave it downstairs anyway most of
the time. I
just don't know why it doesn't go back to sleep once a
notification has come
in, it happens during the day too, of course, but I am around
then to lock
the screen manually.
Anyway thanks for the help and suggestions offered.
Kind Regards,
Jackie Brown

Hi Jackie,
Confused. And again, just would like to understand, not being
mean. But why
does it matter whether they appear on the locked screen, or only
once you've
unlocked? I'm generally interested. I mean, at night, I, for
one, would like
to keep the phone locked, but I suppose, each to their own.

Hi Rajmund
It isn't that I mind receiving notifications, I want that. But
what I
don't want is my phone remaining on once the notification has
come in
as it did the other night and completely flattened the battery.
After
two minutes, it should say "screen locked," but this doesn't
always
happen and that is what I object to. Anyway, I have a few
things to
try so will see if any of them make a difference.
Kind Regards,
Jackie Brown

Hi,
Disable notifications on the lock screen. It will not only save
battgy, but will also keep speech silent, unless you choose to
unlock
the phone. And of course, avoids from people having a look at
it. Go
settings, notifications, and can go through each app, to disable
on
lock screen, or just disable with the ones that you want. I'd
recommend disabling messages, more than anything.

Subject: [access-uk] iPhone not always locking query
I am increasingly aware that when I receive a notification or
text
message, my iPhone 6 doesn't always lock afterwards. I have
checked
the amount of time it is supposed to lock when not touched, and
it is set
to two minutes.
I must have received a notification last night because, when I
went to
my iPhone this morning, it was dead! I am currently charging the
battery which had indeed gone flat, but I am puzzled as to why
this
happens more now than ever. It really means having to stick the
phone
on charge overnight in case a notification comes in and doesn't
lock the
screen afterwards.
I am running the latest iOS release. Is anyone else having this
problem, or is there anything else someone can suggest I try,
please?
Thanks for any help.
Kind Regards,
Jackie Brown
