Hi David

VoiceOver is part of the operating system on Apple products, which is why it
makes it such an attractive proposition, because you don't have to purchase
something else in order to have speech accessibility. And many of the
applications you can freely download or purchase work with the iPhone too.
My dilemma is which one to go for, the iPhone, iPod Touch or even the iPad
eventually.

Kind Regards,

Is Voiceover an app or extension to the O/S?

Hi Annabell

Double-Tapping on the IPhone with Voice Over on is a case of highlighting
the app you want with one finger and then whilst that finger is held down,
tap anywhere on the screen with another. VO sees that as a double tap.

The scenario that Ed just described is and actual double-tap with one finger
and then holding your finger down will then allow you to move apps around by
dragging your finger around the screen.

normal gestures to be used. I don't think it says "tab and hold to move
though", but you might want to try a double tap and lift your finger off the
screen immediately to see if normal service is resumed.

that, without warning, instead of telling me to double tap an icon,
Voiceover has decided to say tap and hold to move. Have I done something to
change this? Finding the iPhone very confusing but will continue to
persevere with it. I still can't get it to accept my wireless network
password! Annabell.
