Thanks Simon, I've just bought myself one.

Cheers

in that case, I would say that the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is well worth
considering. I haven't actually used one of these yet, but the info on it
certainly sounds good.

I have been having the same issue, when I was looking for a USB soundcard to
use with my new win7 laptop, and this was just about the only pro quality
card that I could be sure definitely had full win7 support.

Simon, thanks for this, I'm not looking for anything particularly special,
but I do need win7 support.

personally, I am a big fan of the alisis IO2. am not sure about support for
it under windows 7 though.

or if you are looking for something a bit more pocket sized, the Edirol
UA1EX is a good one, again, windows 7 support for it seems to be limited
though.

both of these cards do a very good job for high quality stereo audio, unless
you are looking for something specific, such as 5.1, or 7.1 analogue
outputs, or multi-track features.

hope this helps.
