Hi Steve. That crap came off as soon as I setup the machine.----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, January 05, 2009 10:48 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: authorising jawsHi Damon, If this is the NC10, it has this horrible thing on it called McafeeSecurity. When you try to authorise JAWS, there is a window that comes upin Mcafee, saying do you want to allow JAWS to access the Internet? Sayyes, and you'll be OK. Alternatively, uninstall that crap and you'll workjust fine. All the best Steve -----Original Message-----From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf OfDamon Sent: Monday 5 January 2009 20:43 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] authorising jawsHi. So, as is the fashion round here, I've got myself a Netbook. However I am having difficulties getting my jaws to authorise and can't break out of40 minute mode. Obviously I can't stick the disk into my NC10 and authorise it because it doesn't have a CD drive. So I've been attempting to tap the number on thecardboard sleeve into the edit field in jaws with little success. It tells me 'please wait' and says it may take several minutes to authorise. After anumber of attempts now, I don't get beyond this screen even after waitingabout 7 or 8 minutes. It doesn't update, doesn't say I've been successful orunsuccessful even. It just does nothing. I do appear to have wifi access to the web because I can use Internet Explorer successfully. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?Note also that I downloaded the latest version of jaws 10 from the websiteyet I tapped in the code from a jaws 8 sleeve because I can't locate the jaws 10 sleeve. Any thoughts appreciated. I've had minimal success previously when attempting to authorise manually in this way. ...Damon__________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signaturedatabase 3579 (20081103) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message.
