hi all,
i've now received the new optishokz sunglasses made by aftershokz, which
they now seem to refer to as Revvez glasses.
for bone conduction the sound is pretty good, not as good as the Bose
Frames but there both using different technologies.
there very light in weight less than 2oz
infact there closer to 1.5oz.
they have silicon nose pieces as well as the ends of the arms being
flexible silicon.
the arms are quite cleverly designed, from by the lens to above your ear
the arms are stiff but the last couple of inches are this soft shaped silicon
with the transducer built into the end of it.
but where the stiff part of the arm joins the silicon there is a spring
loaded hinge built into the arm.
so once you put them on you push down on the silicon close to this hinge
and this silicon section folds down around the back of your ear and the
transducer is held against the back of your ear about half way down.
it doesn't face inwards towards your scull like other bone conduction
devices instead touching the back of the ear and facing towards the
front of your head.
it has blutooth v5, charges in 2 hours and gives 6 hours ofmusic
playback on a charge but it will be quite a bit more than this when used
for controlling a phone when out and about and not listening to music.
it comes with a hard case as well as a soft pull string bag and has a
spare silicon nose piece and a cleaning cloth.
by default the lenses are non polarised but do cut out all the harmful
UV rays and are available in different colours, but you can buy
polarised lenses as an optional extra.
the lens colours are:
Non-Polarized Sapphire Blue, Diamond Transparent and Amber Yellow and Polarized
Moonstone Grey
i think these will be especially useful when out and about and wanting
to use GPS and keeping your ears clear to hear what is going on around
you.
