the strap has a safety buckle on it.
when the flap is opened toward the body of the watch toward the 6 o'clock
part, there is a bar on the buckle over which the hooks on the 12 o'clock
section grasp. toward the 6 is a sloping part which is the strap length
adjustor and nothing to do with fastening the wrist band.
the flat flap on the 12 section is then flapped down with a click, and the
clasp is secured by flapping down the section on the 6 o'clock section.
I must admit that it is tricky if the band is too tight.
the method which I use is to put watch on wrist.
hold back flap with thumb toward the 6 o'clock.
grasp other section with fingers, using thumb as a focus point.
close down flat flap on the 12 section.
close down flap on 6 section.
neither flaps should be forced, but firm pressure is required.
