Hi Adrian.

Yes, you can buy Skype to phone adaptors, I used to be really in to Skype ology as it used to be called, that is using Skype as a replacement for a landline phone. There are Skype phones available from Philips which once set up only require a Wi-Fi connection to become fully operational, also routers which support Skype as a VOIP service with a phone connection socket, so you'd plug your traditional landline corded or cordless phone in and use the router with an internet connection to make and take calls. Diverting your Skype calls to your mobile will cost you for the diverted part of the call, therefore I suggest you look at one of the above options if you plan to use Skype as a replacement for your landline. Good luck and let me know if I can be of further help, and remember, with Skype its no emergency calls as they make plainly and abundantly clear.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] a skype question

Hi

I have just taken out a skype telephone line, I pay a lot
less with that per month than I do with my french landline.
I would like to get a phone I can carry around with me, I
have 3 landline phones that may be redundant if I keep the
skype number going. Is there an adapter I can get to connect
the landline to my pc or laptop to plug my landline phones
into the skype number.

I have set up the skype number to divert to my mobile after
a a few rings if I am away from the pc. I am not sure but I
would think I would need to install skype to my mobile to
use the skype number from the phone, I can receive calls on
it but not make calls. Is skype for a mobile accessible?

Regards

Adrien
