Subject: [access-uk] a new type of bone conduction headphones

hi all,

i've just ordered a new type of bone conduction headphones which appear as
if they could be pretty good with even better to come.
their called the cynaps bluetooth bone conduction system.
the reason they don't call them a headset is because they are fitted inside
a hat which i believe is like a baseball cap.
you can buy the system with or without the hat so if you wanted to you
could custermise your own existing hat or cap.
but there's only $10 difference in the price and their hat is made
especially for the system so you just as well have the version that comes
already fitted in the hat.
there are 3 hats available black, grey, and white and at the moment they
have a special offer on whereby you get all 3 hats plus the bone conduction
system for the same price as you would normally pay for one hat plus the
system.
the special offer price is $79 and unbelievably the standard shipping cost
from the USA is only $5 and at the current exchange rate the total cost for
me was £53.55 which is nearly half the price of the aftershokz headset.
the obvious difference between these 2 systems is whereas the aftershokz's
transducers sit on the bones infront of your ears the cynaps transducers
are fitted in the band of the hat and sit on the bone behind your ears near the back of your head which means these could be much better for people who
wear hearing aids.
the controls and battery are fitted in the peak of the hat.
whats nice about this system is that it is completely modular so not only
can you swap it from one hat to another but you can buy replacement
transducers and microphone which just plug in to replace the old ones, plus
for anyone who finds it difficult to hear through these type of headphones
they sell a pair of super transducers for $20 which have twice the output
level of the volume of the standard transducers.
they are also shortly about to launch a new system named cynaps enhanced.
this new system will not only work as a bluetooth headset but will also
work like a pair of bone conduction hearing aids as you can put them into a
live listening mode where they will pickup and amplify the ambient sounds
around you through twin microphones that will give you a good indication of
which direction the sounds are coming from.
the new system will cost $199 i believe and i think it can be pre-ordered.
the system must be pretty good as it has recently won the top award at a
big conference and exhibition for wearable technology in america.
their website is:

www.maxvirtual.com

i did have a bit of trouble completing the order on their site as when you
add them to the basket it appears at the bottom of the screen rather than
another page and the checkout button along with another button were only
spoken as button but once i selected the correct one to checkout the rest
of the checkout was fully accessible apart from their paypal express
payment wasn't working for some reason but once i told them they turned it
off so it would go through the normal paypal checkout and this worked fine.

pete.
