Jack, CDEX will do this.

Under the convert menu you've got the option to extract a section of the CD.

Have a poke about in there and you'll see you can set it to go from file 1 to the last file and it'll put it in one big file.

in line with this, can i ask is their anything that will rip a cd as
just one whole mp3? cdex is fine but rips the files as a large number
of tracks, not good if for what ever reason you're trying to play a
book and the files are all out of place.

Thanks:
Jack

If the book is on audio CD you'll need to rip it to MP3 first. If it's
already an MP3 disk, enter on the CD drive to open it. Select all the
files
with ctrl a. Hit ctrl c to copy them to the clip board. Go back to the
My
computer directory. Hit z to find Zen Stone and enter on it. Hit ctrl v
to
paste the files you've copied to the player.

Hello all, yesterday I took delivery of my Z Stone, Amazing little
thing
and
as Roger said I the sound quality is superb and that's from me,
another
    person with two hearing-aids!

My question is...I've now had a play and now would like to put a
talking
book onto it..I know how to put a CD in my laptop and copy it to
another
disc using nero. How do I get the talking book to the zStone? I
have
the
cable which I know goes into the USB, what next? If some one could
email me
the instructions using keybord only I'd be so greatful, I want to do
this
myself in steps so I hope its all right asking on here like this? If
I
ask
someone in the family its always "Clicks" or "Here, I'll do it" and
I'm
never any wiser! lol O, my talking book is already an MP3. Thanks,
an
ignorant, but longing to learn Christine W.
