Hello Alazdair,

I've just installed the TV player update you mention below but there is no change in my situation, except that it may have got worse still. Not only can I not get any TV programme sound but, after getting the usual list of channels, BBC 1, BBC 2, etc, pressing enter on any of these no longer brings up the list of available programmes.

It's all very strange and, as you will know, I'm not the only one getting this type of thing. It seems to be happening on ~Win 7 as well as Win 8. Are all others also experiencing this same problem or just a few of us?

Thanks.
John.

Working okay here. You shouldn't need Flash installed if you're on Windows 8 or 8.1: Windows 8 or 8.1 comes with the Flash player built into Internet Explorer. See this page:

I've updated BBC iPlayer TV today, to version 7.3, which should restore the Audio Described category. If anyone wants to check it out that'd be great. Your 7.2 will automatically updated next time you start it.

Best wishes,
