I'll give it a go and let you know. I know on one occasion I installed without the ASPI drivers and I had to uninstall, put in drivers and start again; but perhaps this was before XP.

Hi Carol,

You shouldn't need the ASPI drivers, if you are running Windows XP, just let
it use its native NT drivers, and it should work.

Thanks, that was the only difference I could find.

CDEX is one of only a few things now I haven't put back on my computer
because I recall that on one or other of my computers I had to use ASPI
drivers. I can't recall what they were for or find the relevant information
easily, so if anyone knows then please help me to solve this one.

Meantime I'll leave Winamp Pro alone. Thanks Steve.

Hi Carol,

The only addition, as far as I am aware, is that you can rip CDs to MP3
files. You can rip with the standard version, but not to MP3. That's
about
it, so unless you have a pressing need to use it to rip CDs, I wouldn't
worry about it, especially as there are free alternatives for ripping that
are more accessible, such as CDEX.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

Has anyone used the professional version of Winamp and, if so, how useable
is it by JAWS users? What additions are there to the free version of
Winamp?
