That is a pity. I have no problem with Vodafone and no problem with getting
the 195 directory service set up on 2 mobjile phones, one contract which was
set up maybe nearly 2 years ago and the other on a pay as you go over the
August Bank Holiday.

them up nearly every week for 6 months to sort it out and it didn't get sorted
until I asked to speak to a manager I have had nothing but problems since going
with vodafone and will be going back to orange in march when my contract runs
out hope you manage to get it sorted they are useless best wishes Andrew

I've been through the same process three times with no service yet. Still,
I'm going to try again this week.... when I remember.

    Cheers

ok, I've given them a call this morning, and they have told me that it
should be set up within 24 hours. I had to convince the guy on the other end of
the phone that it was a vodaphone problem and didn't have anything to do with
BT. he was unsure of what to do, and like you, I was intertained to music on
quite a few ocasions. then eventually he took my 195 pin and told me that he'd
emailed the relevant department. how ever, he didnt take my address and I got
the feeling that he was just trying to get rid of me. an to be honest, he
didn't sound like the brightest button in the box.

I'll see what will happen in 24 hours but I'm not convinced that i've
settled the problem .

I phoned from the handset as instructed when I dialled the 195 directory.
Got a message saying it was not set up and to dial 191 from the handset. This
I did. Explained to the person on the phone (who had never heard of 195
directory) what the service was all about. He consulted his paperwork while I
was entertained to music. Then he came back and asked me the number of my
handset. I said I did not know but he should be able to see it come up on his
screen. He did! Then he asked me questions as follows, My PIN as an existing
user of 195 directory. I gave him that. After that he asked for my Name and
my Address. That was all. Then he said as it was Friday and the Bank Holiday
it would take 24-72 hours to set up.

ok, what did you tell vodaphone exactly? so I can say the same thing?
and what did they need from you.

I am pleased to report back that this service was set up for me on
Vodafone as requested last Friday. I must admit I did not get around to
checking it until today. They did tell me that with the Bank Holiday etc that
it could take longer than the usual 24-36 hours so in reality I did not expect
it to be up and working until today. Not disappointed.
