Hi George,
So have they crippled the box then? The new box from Tivo actually has a
screen reader. Could you go into accessibility settings on your box and see if
screen reader is there?
Curious minds.
Thanks.
All the best
Steve

Hi David,
I have to say that Virgin’s Tivo TV Guide is pretty pathetic on the subject of
accessibility. Just two pages and all it really covers is Subtitles and Audio
Description.
However there is as section on TV Anywhere. If I understand it correctly this
allows you to access things using your iPhone, Tablet and other devices in
place of the remote.
You can find out more at:

I have, this morning, found a link, but it may only refer to the U.S.

Hi,
If there is accessibility in that box, VirginMedia are sure not shouting about
it. I couldn’t find anything on accessibility on their web pages.

I would also be very interested to know this! :-) please keep it on the list.
Tell us what works and what doesn't. I would be interesteed to know if the
speech volume and speed can be adjusted as well of course whether or not
everything speaks! :-)

David,
I can't answer your question right now as I'm not at home.
However, we have just had a Tivo V6 box installed, and I shall be looking at
this while I dig into all its other features.
There is certainly an "Accessibility" topic in the menus.
I have to add that Virgin's current deal of £55.00 a month beats Sky's £92 a
month and for a better package, especially as we have Virgin cable right
into our house - as opposed to just to the street box and copper to the
house.

Hi all
Do we have any Virgin Media customers using the new Tivo V6 box? I hear
rumours that the new box is much more accessible, with spoken menus and also
spoken electronic programme guides. I have phoned virgin, but no one can
tell me if this is the case.
If anyone can clarify the situation I would be most grateful.
