The price of this product annoys me. The electronics come to about a
tenner's worth. You can go into B&Q and buy an ultra-sonic measuring
device for about twenty quid. So there is absolutely no way this piece
of crap should cost in excess of 500 quid.

I have heard someone on NFBUK mention one and I think he found it OK
but all he said about it would not make me rush out to get one. On
the other hand I tried one once at an exhibition and as I have some
residual vision which is useful in daylight I would not have good
vision in a dark place at night. I therefore tried the cane having
got the person to place objects in my path and I kept my eyes closed.
All I can say is that as I approached the object I did feel a
vibration but we didn't have anything to simulate head height so I am
not sure if it just detects to the level of the tip of the cane. I
liked it personally and would have purchased if it had cost £30!
