Hi Roger,
The ‘device’ end of a USB 3 cable will generally be different to those of a USB
2 cable. You will only get USB 3 transfer rates from a USB 3 cable. You can
connect USB 2 devices to a USB 3 port but it will only operate at USB 2 speeds.
I hope the above is helpful.
Kind regards,
Stewart.

Subject: [access-uk] USB 3.0 Question
I had a usb 3.0 unit added to my desk top which I use for my external hard
drive and a 3.0 hub. I was reading an article earlier today which stated usb
3.0 cables are not the same as usb 2.0 cables. Does this mean if I use the
wrong cable I will not get the full advantage of the speed 3.0 gives me?
Many thanks Roger
