Honestly I'm just glad not to get a rude awakening at 5.30 if I go to sleep
with the radio on. Surely running this thing for 30-odd years is enough? It
is quite clever musically, but after all that time, as Stanley Unwin might
have said, "It does a borey most".

I have recordings of the UK Radio 4 Theme - somewhere.
I'm afraid its very likely fallen pray to the diversity brigade and their
attitude problems. Not that I ever took the Radio 4 Theme seriously, but I
used to like it as a bit of fun, and to me, being not very musical, it seemed
rather clever, even if it did seem to chime in with those histories of a
Britain that never really existed. Still, no amount of reasoning will get
through to the boneheaded diversity establishment.
