Hello, Ray,

If you have O.E., you can set message rules to delete junk email - if you have Mozilla Thunderbird, they're called filters, but it's the same idea.

Spam has fairly predictable contents, and I'm sure we all get the same kind of stuff. "I'm Prince So-and-so from Nigeria and I want your bank details", "enlarge your anatomy" and "cheap pills" are typical. Their email addresses are usually forgeries, so the only way I know of intercepting them is to base your rules on the message content. It takes a bit of practice, but you can get quite good at getting rid most of this rubbish.

Vince.

I'm having increasing instances of spam these days. there have been two main
themes to this.

the first is being sent an email which displays in a foreign language and
inviting you to download a language update to read it. Needless to say, I do
not respond. the second nuisance is emails that contain nothing but a
graphical image of text. It appears to be little use to choose 'block sender'
as they come up with different email addresses.

I get PayPal and bank spoofs and begging letters which I cheerfully ignore..
Its within bounds at the moment, but its growing. Any suggestions welcome, and
of-list if you want. I'm sure this has been covered many times. Many, many,
times.
Ray
