Chris,

You can enter their numbere into your star list, then, as Steve advised,
they won't even know their numbere is on a list.

I gather, to save you having to actually input their number, on receipt of
their first call, you would press the star key from thence they will get
straight through.

I have my line set up with anonymous call barring and, whenever I give my
number to anybody, I try to remember and advise them of my anonymous call
barring.  If the person cannot ring showing their number, having established
when I can expect a call, I switch the barr off but only leave it switched
for a short time either side of the window, say about ten minutes before and
after.
