Hi, You could argue however that it was not fit for purpose. If it does not measure as described (I am talking about the electronic one) then it is not as described. This is no different from normal commercial suppliers. It is usually things which will have bodily contact such as in-ear headphones, where there could be a risk of spreading disease. A measuring jug might seem an odd one, but who knows what someone might have put in it before they return it, and no insurance company would accept such a liability. This does not however affect your rights as a consumer if the product is actually faulty. You can if you wish confirm all this with Trading Standards or your local Citizens' Advice Bureau. Is that rule just for that product? I thought there was 28 days return policy on everything RNIB sells. But anyway, is there not a 7 days returns by law, if goods ordered over phone, or internet. Oh well, back to using the tip of my finger if the liquid is not too hot.
