Thanks, Amro. I'll keep an open mind just now.

Best wishes,

Joan.

Hi Joan, I'm not so sure to be honest. But you shouldn't be denied completing
these tasks in the first place I would think. Maybe before rushing into
changing your router you'd like to wait until one of the experts on list
hopefully comes in... The problem could not be in your BT router. Sorry that I
couldn't help further.

  All the best,
  Amro

    Thanks very much, Amro.

Are you saying then that, even if I change the modem, I still won't be able
to allow something which is being blocked?

I can't even update Jaws through the update feature but have to go onsite.

My NOD32 which is set to automatically update isn't allowed to do it either
but I can update manually which of course I do often.

However, some radio programmes aren't being allowed either and I have no
way of getting them.

    Best wishes,

    Joan.

Hi, I use Draytek. Many other people on list go for either Linksys or
Netgear as they're cheaper and reliable too. A good plaice to shop from is

      http://www.dsl-warehouse.co.uk/

However, my router's firewall never displayed such messages either, I
could be wrong, but routers generally never do.

      HTH,
      Amro

        Hi, Folks,

At present I have a BT Voyager 2110 which seems to have a firewall. The
trouble is that it won't tell me when it is refusing something or give me the
option to allow it.

Even sighted people see nothing on the screen to give this information.

I have had just about enough of it and wonder if anyone could point me
to a more user friendly and certainly screen-reader friendly) modem?

Any help would be gratefully received.

        Best wishes,

        Joan.
