Oh, thanks George I believe i understand what you're getting at now. So, if
a subject in a given thread should dramatically change then, a new thread
just needs to be started rather than keep adding to the original thread?
Yep, i understand now. My confusion was because of this conversation became
a bit unwieldy. Another dimension was added. That being the istance of
thanking people on the list for help given. As a result I not only lost
what was originally being requested by the mods here but, also I couldn't
gage, clearly what the complaint was about with thank you responses and,
what the advice was.
I'd have love to have seen thank you replies issue in a separate thread.
Thanks,
Hi Justin,
I can understand your confusion, so let me try to explain.
I have simply replied to your message, but you will notice that I have changed the Subject.
In spite of this, the original "Thread" ([access-uk] Re: Moderators request once more: Subject naming) remains in the message headers which you do not normally see.
I have done this because the new Subject, "Subjects and Threads", is relevant to the conversation. Therefore many members who sort by conversation will find this message in the same Thread, even though the subject has changed.
Now if I had used this message and changed the Subject to something completely different, for example, "BookCourier and Audible.com", the message would be grouped with the "Moderators request......" messages, which clearly is out of place.
George.

Hi,
So just to clarify here, as I'm now getting very confused.
When we reply to a subject and we happen to change the subject when writing our e-mails, instead of sending that reply, adding it to the thread, we just open a brand new thread/conversation and post our thoughts there?
Thanks, The more I read, the more I'm starting to loseSubject namingpoint of the original request. <smile>
Thanks again,
