[access-uk] SoundForge question - help I'm panicking

I'm using SoundForge to edit a massive wav file.

I've put my In and Out points in and hit delete.

However, what's happening is that the selected region doesn't delete,
everything else temporarily disappears so that I can only hear the bit
between my in and out point.

It has obviously slipped into some different function that I don't know
about. Does anyone know how to get it back to normal?

Thanks v much

...Damon
