[access-uk] Sound Editing

Hi guys,
I'm wanting to learn Sound Editing and how to do stuff like make a podcast.
Could someone tell me what accessible software I'd need? For my recordings,
I've got an Olympus that transfers them in wav format to the PC, and then I'd
like to convert them to mp3, add music and sound, and edit bits out. I'd also
like it if the program came with, or I could get, an audio tutorial for it.
What can I use?
