Hi Trace,Sky HD boxes connect to the TV via an HDMI cable. Standard boxes connect via a scart cable. I’m guessing that the Sky Talker will only work via scart and that is why it won’t work with HD.However, you could always just connect a Sky HD box to the TV via a scart lead instead, then the Sky Talker should still work. The only problem would be that the picture would not be HD.Hope that makes sense. Regards. Why isn't it suitable for sky plus hd and is there a work around for this? will they be upgrading it for sky plus hd? Sorry for all of the questions but I'm not very clever in this sort of thing. I mailed sky accessibel customer services last night for more detail. This moves the story on a tiny bit as it gives some explanation of the HDTV situation. TEXT BEGINS Thank you for your email. I can confirm that as of the 26th October the Sky Talker box will be available for sale. Sky Talker is a device that will attach to the back of a Sky+ box or STB and will give an audio description of the programme information through the television speakers. It is not recommended for use with Sky+ HD unless the customer is not connecting through HDMI. Kind Regards Laura Adam Accessible Services TEXT ENDS Gotta love their usage of the phrase 'audio description' here in the wrong context. Or at least, I think it's the wrong context. I hope this does actually speak the EPG. Has anyone ascertained how much this box is going to cost? …Damon Damon Rose Senior Content Producer Ouch! website and talk show BBC Vision Learning Tel: 020 8752 4427 (x0224427) email: damon.rose@xxxxxxxxx Twitter: @damonrose bbc.co.uk/ouch is home of the Ouch!
