I get no problem Andy when I insert a picture into the body of a rich
text/HTML format message. (I have found you CANNOT paste directly into a
message, which surprises me a little.)

If you are content to send your picture as an attachment there is a simpler
option. Open the picture in Windows' picture-fax viewer and press the right
context key. Arrow down to 'send to' option and open out that menu choice with
right arrow key. You can then cursor down to send to email receipient. A
brief wizzard opens with options to change the size of the picture to suit
various resolutions. You can simply press OK on this to have the picture
appear as an attachment ready to send in a new email.

If the picture must appear in the body of the message then it appears that, in
Outlook Express at least, you must go via the insert picture option in the
insert menu. If you are getting freezes when this happens there must be
something up with OE's installation, or some other program conflict.
