I'm sure you're right but I don't feel proficient in one, never mind
two.

Hi Carol,
I mentioned a legal window that appears when you launch Spybot? Well,
that window can be closed for good if you tab around and hit the
spacebar on, Do not show this window again. As to AdAware. I have
purchased AdAware SE Plus and still have to use Spybot. I believe you
need 2 or more spyware removal tools until such times as one producer
can get his act together.

Carol,
On opening Spybot you get the first window. Its all legal stuff and not
of much interest. You are asked to click OK on this. Do so and you move
to the next window. The first button on this next window is, Check for
Problems Button. The next button is, Recovery Button. The next button
is, Search For Updates Button. This is the one you hit the spacebar on.
Spybot will now take a moment to check your computer to see what updates
you need. After a moment, and you might hear Jaws read 4%, 36%, 89% etc,
spybot will again say, Spybot search and destroy and you can safely
assume that it has done its checking. It should also place your focus on
a list view of items that it has found which you might wish to download.
You can use your arrow keys to read through these items, many of which,
for your convenience, are already checked. Now on my computer I can't
tab out of here, so what I do is bring up the jaws cursor and move to
the top of this page and, with the control arrow keys to move from side
to side, locate the word download Updates. Stick the pointer on perhaps
the letter W of Downloads and click it with the left mouse button. That
ought to do it.

Hi there all,

OK! You know how I feel about these spyware programmes - don't really
understand any of them! I've just installed SPYBOT and don't know
whatever to do to update before starting to scan. (Makes you want to
throw the computer out of the window!)

If anyone would like to help me through this, I'd be grateful - much
more than!
