[access-uk] Problems installing the developer of window's8.

Hello,
as the subject says,
I am trying to install window's8 on a laptop I don't really use or need
much.
I have window's7 on it I have told window's8 to keep all my programs and
settings it gets to 33% then I get an error saying something has
happened and a cancel button.
I have tried and told window's8 to just reformat the whole drive and
scrub all programs and settings and get to 13% and get the same error
any ideas? with thanks.
