Jackie, weird or what?! Isn't there a way not to have JAWS actually
print the info it gives to a user? Then, maybe you've found the only
way around that.

Some might be interested to know, if they don't already, that Firefox
allows you to turn on a cursor. Of course you have to be out of
browse mode or whatever for this to work, but if you can actually find
the beginning of the text you want, and the page isn't too complex, it
works quite well. Much nicer when web pages have a format for
printing option though.

Cheers,

Hi Marie

Here's a funny story about printing web pages that I discovered some
time
ago.

If I want to buy something out of Argos, for example, I tend to select
the
info from their website and print it off. One day, I handed the girl
my
piece of paper and she said: "Your nest doesn't have a catalogue
number,
which nest of tables is it you want?" I must have looked at her as if
she
was mad, I had no idea at all what she was talking about. I asked if
she
could explain, and it transpired that I had copied the bit where JAWS
says:
"nested list" or whatever it babbles on about sometimes. Well I must
admit
I wanted to sit on the floor and crease up with laughter when I found
out it
had nothing whatsoever to do with a nest of tables.

So Marie, the moral of this story is, if I only want a portion of info
from
a web page, I just select it and paste into Word, then print it. I
very
rarely ever print whole pages straight off the web now as JAWS seems
to
include all its headings etc and end of list stuff into the text which
comes
out on the paper. (Having a good chuckle).

Seriously though, there is often a link on the page which says Print
This
Page. I think that allows you to get a version with less links and
the info
you want, but I rarely do it that way now.

Jackie
