Hi Steve
Yes, got that, but still prefer my VRS, you won't convert me! (smile.) And you
can't listen to the books at a faster rate on Alexa, can you? Also, Alexa
won't play RNIB Talking Books unless I've missed something!
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

To be honest, I don't use my phone, I use a Kindle Fire tablet for Audible, or
my Alexa devices. All Alexa devices have physical pause buttons as well, so
you can get an Echo dot for 40 quid, plug phones into it, and get the same
effect as a 200 quid Stream nowadays.
All the best
Steve

Hi Steve
I agree that Audible is trying to encourage people to move away from specialist
players to listen to their books. And while I could attach a speaker to my
phone in order to have tactile controls, that's not what I want at all. I love
listening to my Stream through headphones, and be able to control it minus a
phone. I get that you prefer your phone to handle most things, but I must
admit that I wouldn't like to be without the method we use to listen to books.
Each to their own though, it has to be whatever works for the individual,
there's no right or wrong way.
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

Hi,
Get a Bluetooth speaker with physical buttons on it, like the E2, and you have
physical buttons for the iPhone, for controlling audio anyway.
I think the Stream's way of managing Audible is going to be obsolete soon to be
honest. I think Audible are fast moving to over the air players.
All the best
Steve

Hi James
It's very subjective, and if that method works for you and others, then happy
days. While I have an iPhone 8 and use it extensively, listening to books on
it is not one of its uses for me, give me a player with physical buttons any
day of the week for listening to books and podcasts. My VRS is one of my top
five favourite gadgets, I love it.
Kind regards,

Hello,
I couldn't recommend the iPhone as a media player highly enough. My iPhone 7+
(you don't need the latest model) plays audible books, spotify, podcasts,
everything really; it also has 256 gb of storeage so good look on running out
of room. Truly the best purchase I have made, as the media player also comes
with some handy features such as facebook, find my nearest pub, various games
and the ability to make phone calls.

I have been using a Plextalk Pocket for many years and it is
definitely compatible with Audible. The maximum SD card you could use is 32G.

Sorry for the cross posting but I want to get as many opinions as possible.
I have just purchased a Victor Reader Stratus 4M and just phoned
Audible to get it set up only to find it is not compatible. With the
exception of smart phones can anyone recommend a player for me,
please.
Many thanks Roger
