Have you contacted Orange about this? There's a number you can dial from a landline, which I forget off-hand, but it can easily be looked up online. It might cost, but it would hopefully lead to a definite solution to your problem. Incidentally, not wanting to sound patronizing, but are you sure the card is inserted properly?
