Hi Dave.

Unfortunately the dynamic nnetworks continuously rolling out new models mean that phones have a very short shelf life as far as network distribution goes. You have to remember that phones, not just Nokia's come out at a finominal rate, so networks have to pick and choose from a healthy selection once every few months. Once it has been decided that the phone is sufficiently old, it gets replaced. The N86 while being an excellent phone in many respects is simply a clunky push-button slider with just a nice high megapixel camera to recommend it. I love my N86 don't mistake me, but everyone is touchscreen mad these days and touchscreens with equally good cameras are on the market now.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Thanks for this but I was really rather hoping someone might come back and say you can get it free of charge or for 50 quid on contract from somewhere like Carphone Warehouse. I'm darned if I'm paying nearly 300 quid for a phone.

Are they really already so far out of date that you can't get them on contract?

OK so I gather that Orange don't stokc these any more as
they're too old. Sorry to be behind the curve on this but I thought
Talks was only just beginning to start supporting this
model fully in the past few months and still haven't quite made it with
email. And
now it seems I can't even get hold of one on a standard
contract.
Anyone any insights? Don't say eBay.

Darn annoying.
