Hi Ali,

I suspect that your new hd hasn't been formatted. You'll have to connect it to an ide slot on any pc and format it. The same thing happened to me just before Christmas.

Best wishes

Subject: [access-uk] New hard drive is not showing

Hi,
I have just bought a 300gb Maxtor 6 l300 USB 2 external hard drive. I am
using xp home addition. When it is connected, the computer finds the
hardware fine. But it does not show it under my computer. I have checked
the system/hardware and it shows that it is functioning properly. Does
anyone know how to get it shown in my computer?

Thank you.
