John...the best properties to buy are the ones after the jail corner
square and near to Free parking, statistically landed on more often than
Park Lane and Mayfair.

Jackie, sadly the Cobalt one is American.

I've managed to cobble together lists of all squares and lists of all
title deeds, house prices, hotel prices, mortgage prices etc.

And lists of all the Chance and Community Chest cards.

So if push came to shove I could label an existing UK set, or maybe put
a Pen Pal sticker on each square and on each card.

Hi Ian,

You had better translate the Bairns for the Southerners! Smile!

Wow John, your friends collection sounds very impressive.  Weve had since
the bairns were young a Simpsons monopoly set (Not Braille adapted by the
way) which has never proved problematic to me. Ive also recently heard of a
Game Of Thrones set which has recently come out which I would love to
experience.

Dear list,

Please use caution and avoid Monopoly sets based in different countries.

Going back many years ago I was on holiday in the USA and I went to the
shop in San Francisco selling goods for one of the American blind
institutions; I cannot remember which one. There was a monopoly set there
which I bought with great anticipation.

I could never really get on with it as all of the streets were totally
unfamiliar. That is, I always knew that Old Kent Road was a very cheap
place while the real ones to go for were Park Lane and Mayfair. I did not
know which properties were which colour and hence their value.

There are many different sets of monopoly available in the sighted world.
A former colleague of mine collected them and had around a thousand
different sets.

Hi Mike

I believe Cobolt Systems does, but whether this is based on the UK game
I'm not sure.

Subject: [access-uk] Monopoly

Hello folks

I just did a search in the online RNIB shop for Monopoly, and of course,
nothing, since they now don't appear to sell more than about half-a-dozen
things.

Anybody got any ideas where I can get a Braille or otherwise accessible
version of Monopoly?

Mike
