Hi, I would also say in support of DJ Paddy that he did ask politely at first to get users to try and do this, but users were continuing to change the subject in this way even after being asked politely. When Barry emailed again yesterday, while most people were happy to learn etc, there was one individual poticularly who didn't see why they had to fall into the rules, describing them as geeky etc. I believe Barry's responses were based on the "couldn't care less" atitude of those particular messages from that one individual. Thanks. Andrew. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Dj Paddy Sent: Tue 06/09/2005 02:37 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Moderators request once more: Subject naming Hi. i'll say on this point having things explained to you can be a rarity. If you ask why people may take the time to explain it but not always. I agree whole heartedly that it's much nicer and does produce a more effective result when it's explained rather than dictated but often as not it's the exception rather than the rule in my experiences outside the VI lists. Just as a warning for people who may join high traffic tech lists moderators don't always have the time to explain things. I do agree we should make the effort though. As this is not only a piece of netiquette but also a part of common curtisy.
