Hello Usuf,

Yes, you're getting the same type of thing that I get most of the time. The availability and usability of programs seems to be very inconsistent.

John.

Hi John, I'm using from a speech perspective only, Window Eyes to be exact. There's definitely some inconsistency here with the ITV site. Corrie plays without any difficulty at all, I can't find Doc Martin and the Bill which I couldn't find in the A-Z list of programs but could only locate through a search, seems to play the same clip over and over again no matter what
episode I select.

Having just fiddled around with the bill I've found that I can play clips from various episodes and that using the next link I can play a couple of clips from each episode. But I can't get the whole episode to play. To say its frustrating is an understatement. I've just discovered that some of the Bill episodes look interesting and I can't play them. The other thing to note is that the flash buttons that WE picks up are unlabelled and don't
appear to do anything.

Hello Usuf,

I have no problems playing legacy issues of ITV programs,
e.g. you can listen to the first series from 2007. All that
is missing to my screenreader (JAWS) is anything current.
When I look for any earlier versions of Doc Martin (or
anything else for that matter), the last time I tried it
nothing was available or even listed anywhere.

I have the Flash player enabled, as is required. I have no
problems in playing programs from the BBC Iplayer, so my
system is working with this type of technology OK as far as
I know.

Are you using this site from a speech perspective only or
using any sight to detect what is there?

I'll have another look in a minute to see if any earlier
issues of Doc Martin are now visible to my screenreader but
they weren't a few days ago.

John.

Just to add to this, I had no difficulty in playing
previous episodes of Doc
Martin but as Darren says below last night's episode
wasn't listed anywhere.

Jon, am I assuming correctly that everything else plays
fine?

Hi John

I haven't much experience with the ITV player either, but
have just had a
nose around. It seems that the interface is very flash
orientated which
makes seeing what is going on very difficult and of
course Jaws misses a
lot of stuff. I think
I came across the page which gives details of past Doc
Martin programmes,
but couldn't find any link to last nights episode.

The best I could find was going to the A to Z index which
seems to list
all the programmes available on the ITV player, some
programmes have
numerous episodes where as others might only have one.
Again there is no
mention of Doc Martin under D or M so either you will
have to look another
day or it's not going to be listed. Anyhow the main link
to the A to Z
index is:

http://www.itv.com/ITVPlayer/AtoZ/default.html

This lists programmes from A to B and there are links to
other programmes
beginning with different letters at the bottom of the
page.

Not much help I know, but think we'll blame ITV for this.

Darren.

Hello Usuf,

I found your details of how to use the ITV Iplayer
interesting. I agree with you that it is easy to click
on
the Iplayer link and then on a number of links for
recent
Coronation Street, Mid-Summer Murders and Emmadale
programs.
However, I find that if you want to listen to anything
recent other than these three programs, then you are on
a
wild goose-chase trying to find them. For example, how
would
you listen again to yesterday's (31 July) Doc Martin
program
which was on at 9 pm on ITV 1?

I can find several workable links to Doc Martin programs
from several years ago OK but finding anything recent
has so
far eluded me. I have also so far not located the "Are
you
over 18 checkbox" yet either, although, presumably, this would not affect listening to something like Doc Martin.

Even if I use the search box to look for "Doc Martin" in general or "Doc Martin 31 July" nothing comes up of any
use
as far as listening to the actual program in question is
concerned.

Your further observations on this matter would be
appreciated. Can you, for instance, listen to
yesterday's
Doc Martin program and, if so, how did you achieve this?

BFN,
John.
