There's a bit of a trick to this one.

You also have to turn smart tags off in jaws verbosity for MS word
documents.

Open a word document, press insert plus V and arrow down once and jaws will
announce smart tags on. Press the space bar to turn smart tags off, tab to
close and jaws should announce document settings saved and you should get
rid of the dreaded smart tags.

Hi,

I tried this question on the jaws list, but got no response, maybe someone
on this list can help me. I have smart tags coming up in my documents, I've
turned smart tags off in options, but this hasn't rectified the problem. Do
I have to turn them off somewhere else in word as well as in options? I hope
someone can answer this question for me, there driving me round the bend.

Thanks in advance.
Jim.
