Thanks for these notes on MP3 DirectCut.
Are there details for splitting a file into bits? I have tried this
according to the programme instructions and cannot get it to work well..

I only use MP3DirectCut to remove unwanted time from the start of
recordings, but the following information posted to the BCAB list by David
Griffith covers the basics and may be enough to get you started.

This is easily achieved using the Free Mp3DirectCut utility which is
flexible and provides multiple functionalities.
1. Open your 45 minute mp3 file.
2.Press B to start a selection point at the beginning of the file. If you
are not at the beginning press home to jump to the beginning.
Pressing end jumps you to the end.
3. Press space to start the mp3 playing. Press right arrow and left arrow
to jump in small increments through the file. Press Page up and Page down
to jump through larger segments. As stated home and end to go to beginning
and end.
4. When you get to the part that marks the end of the audio you do not want
then press space to pause and then N for Norman to mark the end of your
selection. Now you would have highlighted all the audio between where you
have press B and N.
5. Press the delete key to delete this. Continue to select areas as
necessary using the B and N key to select and delete to cut out sections.
5. Finally when you have only the audio you want press control W to save the
new file, give it a new name to prevent destruction of the original file,
though mp3directcut will warn you twice to stop you doing this unless this
is really what you want to do.

Hello All,
I thought I had a listof the above but now cannot find it. It's ages since I
last used it.
The program has a Help menu with a list of keyboard shortcuts and there are
others mentioned in the other menus but many shortcuts are not listed. The
manual does not even tell you how to select a portion of a filefor deleting,
editing, etc.
A Google search fails to find what I need.
Can anyone supply me with a list of all shortcuts for MP3 Direct Cut or
point me to where such a list can be found?
