Carol: Exit Excel completely - not just closing the sheet, and re-open by either running Excel and opening the file or pressing "enter" on the file name usually works - but make sure that Excel is maximized. Sometimes just maximizing works, and sometimes pressing F9 to manually recalculate the workbook. Nothing ever seems to be consistent. Using INS+T the name of the sheet is announced properly. As I move from sheet to sheet with CTRL+PGDN or CTRL+PGUP the sheet name is also announced correctly. (Now, here's where the problem occurs.) If I wish to rename a sheet, sometimes having pressed "Enter" to do this, the sheet name can no longer be read in the edit box with Jaws. This is infuriating when I want to alter the sheet name by, say, one number or just a few characters. I can't fathom what causes this problem to occur and certainly can't make it right again ... Any help most gratefully received. -- Carol carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq No virus found in this incoming message.
